NICC - National Institute of Forensic Science and Criminology
I have been working at the NICC since 2010. My role is twofold, combining research activities and strategic responsibilities.
Researcher
Alongside my CDO duties, I continue my research within the Criminology department. My research focuses on:
- Analysis of criminal justice data, recidivism, and criminal careers.
- The KG4J (Knowledge Graph for Justice) project aiming to structure complex information in the criminal justice domain.
- The reasoned application of artificial intelligence and knowledge graphs in the public sector.
Chief Data Officer
As Chief Data Officer (CDO), I am responsible for the institution’s data governance strategy. My work consists of:
- Developing and implementing a data governance policy.
- Conducting data audits and preparing the institution for the challenges of artificial intelligence.
- Designing knowledge infrastructures for better exploitation of forensic and criminological data.
- Ensuring traceability, quality, and ethical use of data within the organization.
The NICC acts as a laboratory allowing scientific rigor to be confronted with the operational requirements of a federal institution.
